When David Rocco plays host during the holiday season, he has a trick to help create a jovial atmosphere for family and friends: he makes sure he’s relaxed himself. After all, there’s no place for panic in la dolce vita!
“If I’m not completely finished preparing my meal when my guests arrive, I’ll invite them in the kitchen, give them a glass of wine and it becomes very relaxed,” explains the 40-year-old star of the Food Network show David Rocco’s Dolce Vita, which recently debuted in the U.S. David, who loves to entertain with his high school sweetheart and wife of 16 years, TV producer Nina Rocco, 41, adds: “When we have people over, I really don’t fret over whether everything is perfect. There’s nothing worse than being at someone’s house for dinner, and the host is always getting up and fussing. To me, entertaining is about enjoying each other’s company.”
